We don’t do conveyancing, family law isn’t our thing and if you’ve just been arrested it’s also likely you’ll need to speak to another law firm.

Redundancy

Sometimes it is necessary for employers to make staff redundant. This is a form of dismissal from your job, caused  perhaps by your employer needing to reduce the workforce.

Reasons for this can be:

  • New technology or systems have made your job unnecessary.
  • The job you were hired for no longer exists.
  • The need to cut costs means staff numbers must be reduced.
  • The business is closing down or moving.

If you are going to be made redundant, you should be treated fairly by your employer and there are certain steps they are expected to follow. You may also be entitled to a redundancy payment.

If you think you have, or are about to be made redundant unfairly, and want to seek professional advice, call Stonehewer Moss Solicitors for a free introductory consultation.
